Our Pastor Dr. Andre Lee Thurman

Dr. A. L. Thurman accepted Jesus Christ as his savior in 1984 then received his calling in 1985 after experiencing a divine visitation from God. He is an ordained Elder in the Church of God in Christ In New York under the jurisdictional prelate Bishop Frank O. White, and in Delaware under the jurisdictional prelate Bishop Thomas L. Holsey and received other certification within the Organization. He is an author of " A Vignette of narratives", He founded "Children of Faith Ministries" and is the editor and chief of two Christian newsletters. Elder Thurman received His Christian education which includes studies in "Biblical History" and "Divinity" at "Summit Bible College" in California. He presently has arrived at attaining a Doctor of Theological Degree, with a focus in pastoring. He received his Spiritual covering from his father and mother, Dr. A.L. Thurman Sr. and Mother Janelle Thurman. His Christian experience includes musician, Sunday school teacher for more than twenty years, assistant pastor and numerous other areas of ministry within the church. He Became a successful entrepreneur and operated two retail businesses of variety to facilitate the church and its ministries. His secular experiences include attending "Lincoln College" "Auto refurbishing business" worked for the collection department of "Signet Bank" and the "Union Trust Bank". And he has worked in many other ministries within the church.

Mother Thurman is the President of the "Fellowship Union", working together to bring diversity in to universality. This is a faith based initiative. Many churches has looked at the governments faith based initiative programs as an objective means to funding many of their church programs. The government has looked at the church for all intended purposes as a social service without the bureaucracy which tends to slow down the process of helping people who find themselves in a real life emergency. President Bush initiated his take on the faith based initiative while in office, with a budget of 65 million dollars for those who qualified. These government programs only sound good on paper because any effort to secure something hopeful, becomes nearly Impossible for the small church to achieve. The process is even extremely critiqued for larger churches. There are programs out there, aimed at helping churches gain financial stability, but without the government. without trying to sound too biased, I believe Christ has blessed this initiative more than any other because it brings churches together for the purpose of helping each other in many ways.

First Lady Mozelle Thurman

The first Lady: Mozelle Thurman, Christian experience includes an arbitrary position in our missions department. She is a philanthropist who's charitable contributions helps to aide a segment of the community. She remains constant in providing infants to adolescent children with clothes each year. She is the founder of "Tammy's Closet", a ministry that began after the untimely death of her child hood friend. She thought the best way to remember her friend was by remembering just one of her best qualities, "her giving". Her friend would help anybody that needed it. The first lady's secular experiences consist of a professional career in people management, her training comes from the "Chesapeake Developmental Center" and "Shore Health Systems". She received many medical certifications for her line of work and has worked at the Union Memorial Hospital of Easton for many years.
